COMMENCEMENT INCENTIVE
Payable to an employer who commences an Australian Apprentice in Certificate II, III or IV level training and some selected Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications.

3 months after the commencement

In NSW only – trainee apprentices
- 12 months after commencement

Certificate II Level - $1250

Certificate III/IV Level and above - $1500

MATURE AGED WORKER COMMENCEMENT INCENTIVE
Payable in addition to the Commencement Incentive when you employ a Mature Aged Australian Apprentice 45 years or older, meeting special eligibility criteria.

3 months after the commencement Certificate III/IV Level and above - $750

AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL-BASED APPRENTICESHIP
Additional Commencement Incentive payable in addition to the Commencement Incentive when you employ an Australian School-based Apprentice.

3 months after the commencement Certificate III/IV Level - $750

INNOVATION INCENTIVE
Payable in addition to the Commencement Incentive when you employ an Australian Apprentice undertaking a qualification under an Innovation Training Package.

RURAL AND REGIONAL SKILLS SHORTAGES INCENTIVE
Payable in addition to the Commencement Incentive when you employ an Australian Apprentice at Certificate III/IV level in an identified skill shortage occupation in a rural area.

RECOMMENCEMENT INCENTIVE
Payable to employers recommencing an Australian Apprentice who is out of trade.

3 months after the commencement or recommencement of the Australian Apprentice

COMPLETION INCENTIVE
Payable to the employer when the Australian Apprentice successfully completes their qualification (and issue of Vocational Certificate in South Australia only).

MATURE AGED WORKER COMPLETION INCENTIVE
Payable in addition to the Completion Incentive when the Mature Aged Australian Apprentice successfully completes their qualification.

AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL-BASED APPRENTICESHIP RETENTION INCENTIVE
If you employ or continue to employ a former student who completed Year 12 and was undertaking an Australian School-based Apprenticeship, a retention incentive may be payable.

Once the Australian Apprentice has been employed for twelve consecutive weeks following the completion of Year 12 where the employer continues to employ them in the same or a different Australian Apprenticeship Certificate III/IV Level - $750

SUPPORT FOR MID CAREER APPRENTICES (SMCA)
The Australian Government will provide financial support for Australian Apprentices aged 30 and over who commence an Australian Apprenticeship at Certificate III or IV level or higher, in a trade experiencing a skills shortage. The payment is made to either the employer or the apprentice (depending on award arrangements).

From commencement - end of second year of SMCA eligible Australian Apprenceship

Certificate III/IV Level - $150 per week for Yr1, $100 per week for Yr2
