| The Certificate of Registration course for the residential real estate sector comprises three units of learning. The units are: |
| MODULE 1 - 17319B PREPARE FOR WORK IN THE PROPERTY INDUSTRY |
| This unit of competency is designed to provide the foundation knowledge to effectively and efficiently work within the property industry. It covers the basic entry-level functions to enable a learner to comply with legal and procedural requirements, and identify those potential risks to the consumer at large associated with the marketing and sale, leasing and management, and associated activities within the property industry. |
- Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental principles in the application of financial, legal and procedural requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge of ethical practices and rules of conduct.
- Outline essential risk management concepts.
- Identify industry employment and professional development requirements.

| MODULE 2 - PRDRE35A COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY AND ACCURATELY WITH CLIENTS |
| This unit of competency is designed to give you the ability to communicate with all clients effectively. This module covers: |
- Communicate effectively with all clients.

- Establish appropriate level of rapport with client.
- Communicate the rights and responsibilities of the agency and client to the enquirer.
- Deal with client conflicts professionally in accordance with agency guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain records of communication in accordance with agency guidelines.

- Respond effectively to initial client enquiry.

- Establish client need/s.
- Provide accurate verbal and written information.
- Gather sources of information and record notes.
- Provide information to client in a professional manner in accordance with organisational guidelines.

- Use strategies to manage difficult or aggressive clients.

- Demonstrate a range of appropriate skills in dealing with difficult clients.
- Record and update client responses in line with adopted strategy and/or organisation procedures.

| MODULE 3 - 17319A WORK IN THE REAL ESTATE SECTOR |
| This module is designed to provide specific, basic knowledge and skills to effectively and efficiently work within a Real Estate agency. It covers the basic entry-level practice functions of an agency operative associated with the marketing and sale, leasing and management of urban real estate. It is a knowledge-based unit designed to equip the learner for entry into the industry. |
- Identify work practices for providing real estate services.

- Define basic real estate terms, property types and transactions.
- Real estate services and work practices are planned and implemented in accordance with client and agency values and statutory requirements.
- A range of agency procedural requirements relevant to the sale and management of Real Estate is accessed.
- An understanding of the purpose of industry standard forms and documents is demonstrated.
- An understanding of the individual's obligations and responsibilities in completing standard forms is recognised and applied.
- Ability to complete industry standard forms and documents is demonstrated.

- Outline risk areas in real estate agency practice.

- An understanding of the statutory requirements and agency practices in receiving and handling monies is demonstrated.
- Individual's obligations and responsibilities as operatives in the handling of listed properties for sale (private treaty/auction etc.) are recognised and applied in accordance with industry and statutory requirements.
- Individual's obligations and responsibilities as operatives in the handling of managed rental properties are recognised and applied in accordance with industry and statutory requirements.
- Appropriate security arrangements in the marketing/sale and/or leasing of property are demonstrated.
