| Certificate of Registration Training Program |
| Overview |
| The new Certificate of Registration course, comprising of 4 modules, is VETAB accredited and recognised by the Office of Fair Trading. Any person looking to enter the real estate industry must have this qualification. When you have obtained a Statement of Attainment you can submit it to the Office of Fair Trading, where they will then issue you with the Certificate of Registration (conditions apply - see www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au for more information). |
| The Office of Fair Trading no longer issues provisional Certificates, so if you want to work in the industry you must complete your Certificate before you commence work. |

| The Certificate of Registration Course |
| The Certificate of Registration course for the residential real estate sector comprises four units of learning. The units are: |
| MODULE 1 - CPPDSM4080A WORK IN THE REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY |
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to enable a new entrant to the industry to gain a basic understanding of the industry and work ethically and effectively in a real estate agency. This includes awareness of ethical and conduct standards, core functions of real estate agency operations, legislative and regulatory framework within which the industry operates and industry employment requirements.
The unit may form part of the licensing requirements for persons engaged in real estate activities in those States and Territories where these are regulated activities. |
- Develop knowledge of estate agency operations.
- Interpret and comply with legislative and agency requirements.
- Model ethical practice.
- Identify industry employment requirements.

| MODULE 2 - CPPDSM4007A IDENTIFY LEGAL AND ETHICAL REQUIREMENTS OF PROPERTY MANAGEMENT TO COMPLETE AGENCY WORK |
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to meet the core legal and ethical requirements associated with property management. This includes awareness of the legislation dealing with the leasing and management of property, the role and responsibility of agency personnel in property management, the recording of property management transactions and the completion of property management documentation.
The unit may form part of the licensing requirements for persons engaged in real estate activities in those States and Territories where these are regulated activities. |
- Apply knowledge of property management.
- Develop knowledge of property management process.
- Handle moneys.
- Identify roles and responsibilities of agency personnel in property management.

| MODULE 3 - CPPDSM4008A IDENTIFY LEGAL AND ETHICAL REQUIREMENTS OF PROPERTY SALES TO COMPLETE AGENCY WORK |
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to meet the core legal and ethical requirements associated with property sales. This includes awareness of the legislation relating to property sales, the role and responsibility of agency personnel in property sales, the administration of sales transactions and the completion of sales documentation.
The unit may form part of the licensing requirements for persons engaged in real estate activities in those States and Territories where these are regulated activities. |
- Develop knowledge of property sales.

| MODULE 4 - CPPDSM3019A COMMUNICATE WITH CLIENTS AS PART OF AGENCY OPERATIONS |
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to interact and build relationships with clients as part of agency operations. It includes developing rapport with clients, handling initial client enquiries, establishing and maintaining a client database and dealing with client complaints and problems.
The unit may form part of the licensing requirements for persons engaged in real estate activities in those States and Territories where these are regulated activities. |

| Are there any specific entry requirements for Certificate of Registration course? |
- The entry requirement of this course is that you have a NSW School Certificate (Yr 10) or equivalent. The minimum age of enrolment for this course is 18 years of age.
- Is a fit and proper person to hold a Certificate of Registration.
- Is not a disqualified person.

| How can you complete the Certificate of Registration course? |
| The Australian Salesmasters Training Company (RTO #6854) runs this course by Distance Learning or 3 day classroom activity. The choice is yours. |

| How long will the Certificate of Registration take? |
| Candidates completing the Certificate of Registration full time do so in 3 days. |

| How am I assessed? |
| You will have assessments to complete throughout the course. These are marked using competency based assessment - that is you are either competent or not competent. |
