Duration: The program is delivered over a one year period

This program will provide participants with general skills such as OH&S and organising work priorities as well as more specific work related skills, such as establish and manage effective workplace relationships.

This learning and assessment strategy has been designed for a flexible-delivery mode. Alternate strategies will be developed for training held as part of distance education or institution-based programs.

The program commences with an orientation workshop for all participants. Learning and assessment resources are provided at the outset, including detailed learners guides, reading materials, CD-ROM and web-based activities and work-based projects Workshops to support electives are organised, if required, to meet the needs of the participants.

Throughout the program, regular monitoring and assessment visits are conducted in the participant’s workplace. Phone and email support is available at all times.

The combination of units on the following page has been developed for senior salespeople and Managers in the automotive industry. However, alternate units may be chosen to suit more specialised administrative roles and staff in different organisations or industries.

This qualification must include 8 units based on the above plus a certificate III in Automotive:

·       16 standards, 8 from Certificate IV, 2 from Diploma plus 6 from Certificate III in Automotive Sales.

·       Units from other Training Packages must not duplicate units selected from the Automotive Sales Training Package.

·       All units selected must contribute to and combine to form a credible work outcome.

Learning & Assessment Arrangements

Flexible – Delivery

Delivery will be conducted with a combination of face to face and self paced learning, including:

·       An orientation workshop for all participants

·       Learning Resources provided for each unit to support flexible-delivery, including reading materials, CD-ROM based activities and work-based projects.

·       Face to face mentoring by a World Learning Centre representative.

·       Workshops to support electives as required

It is anticipated that all participants will be working within an organisation where they will be able to practise the skills being developed.

Evidence gathering strategies used for assessment of this qualification:

·      Trainee self-assessment using self-assessment instruments

·      Demonstration to technical expert

Pathways

All trainers and assessors have a minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and workplace experience related to all of units they are training or assessing.

RTO staff coordinating the learning and assessment program also complete ongoing professional development workshops to maintain currency of knowledge in learning and assessment strategies, tools and evidence gathering methods.

The processes used to validate assessment activity in this program include:

·      Mentoring of on site assessors to ensure consistency in both understanding and delivery of assessment processes and tools and understanding of competency

·      Partner providers and on-site coordinators participate in orientation workshops

·      Written/verbal survey of trainees on clarity and process of assessment

·      Team teaching of orientation workshop

·      World learning Centres ongoing Assessment Validation Strategy

·      Staff involved in the delivery and assessment of this qualification have direct access to the current version of the relevant training package, including the appropriate units of competency, assessment guidelines and qualification structure.

·      Staff involved in delivering the program have access to trainer, assessor and participant support materials relevant to their areas of deliver and assessment

·      All assessors have access to print and electronic copies of the assessment tools used in the program.

·      World Learning Centre liaises with relevant personnel in each participant’s organisation to ensure the participant has access to any equipment required to complete the training program.

Participants are given some opportunity to tailor the units included in this qualification to provide a suitable career pathway. They can be provided with details on how these units link to qualifications at a higher level, where appropriate.

They are also provided with details on additional qualifications that are available and that will help to further the skills they have gained.
